Larch House, Findhorn
Zero Carbon House, Findhorn. Moray Design Award 2008 The internal arrangement of the house was designed around a stair located centrally and comprising two straight flights and a curved half landing. The curved wall of the stair landing is then reflected in the adjacent bathrooms and bedrooms forming a strong spatial design feature to what is a small simple house. -
Lime House, Findhorn
Built for an outgoing young family, the design of this project was a collaboration form the outset. The Start family run their own business restoring clockwork memorabilia and as a result have a large and varied collection of artefacts for which the internal spaces were designed. -
PV House, Rafford
A small house designed for the needs of a couple with provision for frequent visitors. Principle living space upstairs with views westwards across Moray. An energy efficient design, with super insulated wall & roof structure, larch cladding. The principal roof has been designed to incorporate photovoltaic electric generation as part of the new feed-in tariff legislation. -
New Farmhouse, Urquhart, Moray
A 4 bedroom farmhouse for a young family, on an exposed site overlooking the vale of Moray. Running costs have been minimised by a super-insulated building envelope and passive solar design; while the windy location has necessitates a closed system of heat recovery & ventilation augmented by an air sourced heat-pump. -

Passive energy house using super insulated external walls & roof, PV electric solar roof arrays with heat recovery & heat-pump heating system.
